Gimli on display at Weta Cave

The Weta Cave has been rearranging their mini-museum over the last two days. A lot of their older pieces are being put back into storage again, while they're putting other items on display for us to ogle at.

From their website it looks like Gimli (the puppet version, not John Rhys-Davies) has made the list. Unfortunately I won't be able to see it for myself till next week, since I'm away for the weekend, but I just thought I'd give you the sneak update. :)

I'm racking my brains over who the red and green guys are - my guess is they're from Xena or Hercules or something... :) More next week when I find out!

Not confirmed yet, but apparently the Hellboy Gun will also be on display!

  1. Dear Jack , since just hearing last night that you'd started a blog , i have now read it all the way through and really like it ! It's good to see the pictures correspond with your many stories , love reading the goss , and , although I am too late for the poll , I loved going on the tour with you many years ago. Man that was a wet day.
However my local thrift store yielded a much finer find than an empty film can; I found a genuine Rohan cloak clasp , just before the last film was released. Except ofcourse , you were the one pointing out to me , what it was that I had bought for a few dollars. I use this lovely brass piece of practical jewellery all the time ,to fasten my angora shawl. Love from your sis.

  2. Heya Ellen! Nice to see you here (finally!) :)

Yeah, sure, mention your fluke purchase one more time! Hehe... I got my Rohan cloak clasp cheaper though - it was given to me by the artists who made them...

Hey, whatever happened to that amazing Witchking costume you made?

  4. @anonymous :

    That's the $64,000 question, isn't it!

Check my earlier entry on what we do know though.

  5. My mates working at Weta Digital have said that, while del Toro has always had a couple people who he wants to ask, they're still about 3 months away from starting to approach any actors for auditions for Bilbo. So it's gonna be a while yet!

  6. Hi there! I'm a local-to-you LOTR fan who would like to contact you and ask you a few questions. Would that be OK? Cheers, tyellas at hotmail.com

  7. @Eric:
Exciting times, for sure. GDT has said there were four possibles for Bilbo at the start of the year but by now he's only got one possibility left, but refused to divulge it obviously. I think we'll hear more in the next month or so.
