Thanks :) Sometimes it's good...@Amy Proctor :

Thanks :) Sometimes it's good to completely get away from everything for a bit, so we went to Australia instead of somewhere local.

The last 7 holidays have been to Rotorua, Christchurch, Picton, Nelson, Napier, and Carterton, and a tour of the South Island with my son, so I do like to tour my own country before leaving it!

- JackJackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04804531068833438636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3786718561875501667.post-82511616435100193232009-07-22T19:28:44.940+12:002009-07-22T19:28:44.940+12:00Congrats! I...Congrats! Happy marriage to you and your wife.

I visited New Zealand for 2 weeks in April and completely fell in love with it. I can't wait to come back, but next time for a month.

I'd rather honeymoon in New Zealand than Australia, but hope you had fun!Amy Proctorhttp://amyproctor.squarespace.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3786718561875501667.post-44589258224112986822009-07-15T20:56:23.181+12:002009-07-15T20:56:23.181+12:00@Karen
Thanks for the info - I'm afraid I did...@Karen

Thanks for the info - I'm afraid I didn't get to use it but I do appreciate it! The hotel we used had Wi-Fi (for my iPod Touch) but they assured me I had to plug the provided cable into it first. I tried to explain that having a cable to access the Wireless seemed kinda pointless but they wouldn't budge, so I had no internet access for the first week at all. Didn't really miss it, to be honest!

In the end we spent about a week at the Sunshine Coast, one day driving through Brisbane, and the rest of the 12 days in Gold Coast, at Surfers Paradise. Our days were pretty busy with a whole bunch of stuff, including forest walks, beach walks, a day at the zoo, a day at the markets, and of course a day at Dream World...

Surely nothing can be more romatic than screaming down a rollercoaster together, right? ;)

- Jack M.Jackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04804531068833438636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3786718561875501667.post-28326518036445607762009-07-06T13:58:35.167+12:002009-07-06T13:58:35.167+12:00Don't know if you will be stopping at Brisbane...Don't know if you will be stopping at Brisbane or the Gold Coast but if you do thought I would pass a bit of local knowledge for your added enjoyment should you need it.
Restaurants: e'cco, The Customs House, Cloudland - all amazing and romantic and in Brisbane. (don't go to Cloudland on a Friday or Saturday though).
Chill on Tedder in Main Beach Gold Coast is another amazing restaurant, and Blue Grotto is a lovely little bar to sit in, has amazing calimari, also Main Beach.
In brisbane I think the best pub is probably Brussels, its a belgian bar in the city, doesnt have australian beer but I would avoid that if you are a kiwi anyway.. oh and dont ever eat australian fish n chips it's awful.Karennoreply@blogger.com
